Another nice little Optus brief from the guys at M&C Saatchi. We needed to come up with a map of Australia to resemble a sculptural network of lights. Our 3D department created a web of lights we could bend and mould to create the correct shape. The bird and elephant were shot by Mark Laita in The States and because the turn around was super fast we simultaneously created previsualisations of the animals in 3D to set angles and to determine how they would interact with the map. We rendered the background, then blended all the components together in retouching. Another great example of our 3D and retouching departments working together to create something magical!
