Electric Art is looking to expand it's range of freelance Retouchers & freelance 3d operators. As you may already know, we work mainly in print, so a love and an eye for detail is rather important. Preferred attributes would be:

Junior retoucher;

  1. Ability to do accurate deep-etches, of varying complexity. Utilising a variety of methods to suit such as channel masks, pen tool, vector masks and adjustments layers
  2. Ability to take artistic direction / follow instructions & briefs.
  3. General clean-up/ cloning skills.
  4. Strong work ethic.
  5. Flexible working hours preferable.
  6. Excellent knowledge of photoshop CS3/4.
  7. Fantastic attention to detail.

Senior retoucher;

  1. Able to understand and follow job briefs.
  2. Work unassisted & to a deadline.
  3. Be able to accept/follow artistic direction from CD(EA).
  4. Extensive photoshop knowledge.
  5. Minimum 5 years experience in creative retouching.
  6. Must be able to manage very large and complex photoshop files.
  7. A background in photography or illustration preferred but not essential.
  8. Must have an EYE (or 2).

3d artist;

  1. Being able to create something real in 3d and finish it off yourself in Photoshop so that it just sits there in it's glory while people walk past and don't even comment because they think it's real is an overriding advantage. If you can do this then stop reading and knock on our front door.
  2. If not the above, then being able to do at LEAST a,b,c,and d of the following:

    1. poly model to good clean topology. (in great detail if needed) Silo, Max, or Maya.
    2. create texture maps to detail and be able to unwrap uv's proficiently.
    3. create beautiful shaders in Mental Ray or for Maya or Max, or Final Render for Max.
    4. Be able to drive Maya 2010 (preferably) or Max 2010 with your eyes closed.
    5. Be able to drive Mudbox 2010 (preferably) or Z Brush 3.5 with your eyes open.
    6. Proficiency in Photoshop would be a real advantage.
    7. Anyone who can operate Real Flow has the patience of a god and is too good for us.
  3. We are expanding rapidly into animation, so the ability to rig characters, and do good keyframe and blendshape animation or familiarity with muscle systems would be great.
  4. Basic editing/compositing - familiarity with Final Cut, Shake or Toxic etc
